Bolduc named director of Bureau of Labor Standards

Daniel Bolduc is the new director of the Maine Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Standards. He replaces Pamela Megathlin, who left the department in 2017 for a new opportunity.

The Maine Department of Labor has hired Daniel Bolduc as director of the Bureau of Labor Standards. He replaces Pamela Megathlin, who left the department in 2017 for a new opportunity.

Bolduc joins the Department with more than 30 years of work in the private sector as both an insurance agent and the owner and operator of his own insurance firm. He is a graduate of Harvard University and a former Olympic athlete and professional hockey player in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings. He chronicled his journey in a personal memoir called "From Pee Wee to Pro."

Labor Commissioner John Butera welcomed Bolduc to the department, adding: "His tenacity and enthusiasm will serve our constituencies well, and his dedication will certainly contribute to the integral role he will play as director of the Bureau of Labor Standards."

The Bureau of Labor Standards works professionally with its customers to continually improve workplace safety, health and workplace rights. The services it provides to employers include onsite safety and health consultations through the SafetyWorks! program, research and statistics involving Workers' Compensation data and guidance related to labor laws, youth employment and wages.
