The New England Craft Beer Summit, in its third year, is expected to be the largest to date.
The trade show, which brings together brewers, vendors and other professionals, will be held March 29 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay, the largest venue of that kind available in Portland.
Last year, 500 people attended the summit, when it was held at the University of Southern Maine. This year, the summit expects a larger crowd.
The keynote speaker will be Natalie King, executive vice president of York-based Stonewall Kitchen. King, who joined Stonewall Kitchen in 1996, oversees all of the company’s “guest facing” efforts, including wholesale division, company stores, the cooking school, product development, merchandising and marketing, according to the company.
The summit will also feature a full day of sessions, with a special attention paid to staffers in the front-of-the-house and in tasting rooms.
The summit is hosted by the Maine Brewers’ Guild. Maine is home to 90 breweries, up from 35 in 2013. Craft beer has an economic impact of $67.8 billion nationwide, according to the Boulder, Colo.-based Brewers Association.
In Maine, craft beer has an economic impact of $476 million, according to a Brewers Association study released in September.
Sponsors for the Portland event are Bernstein Shur (presenting sponsor), Broadreach Public Relations, GHM Insurance, Pierce Atwood, Acadia Insurance, CBRE|Boulos Co., Mainebiz and Craft Brewing Business.
The event runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
