Last week, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke unveiled a draft plan that would open up more than 90% of United States waters for possible oil exploration and development, including along the Atlantic seaboard and the coast of Maine. In his announcement, Zinke stated, “Responsibly developing our energy resources on the Outer Continental Shelf in a safe and well-regulated way is important to our economy and energy security, and it provides billions of dollars to fund the conservation of our coastlines, public lands and parks … The important thing is we strike the right balance to protect our coasts and people while still powering America and achieving American Energy Dominance.”
Do you support opening up more U.S. waters, including the Gulf of Maine, to possible oil exploration and development?
