The good: Four transit programs in Maine are sharing more than $3 million in federal funds to rehab or purchase vehicles.
The bad: Starting Sept. 1, electricity prices are going up for medium to large businesses that take Central Maine Power Co. or Bangor Hydro Electric Co.'s standard-offer service.
The fair fare: The Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce will have a "potato booth" at the Northern Maine Fair this weekend, where representatives from local businesses will dish out stuffed baked potatoes, tacos, and dumplings and other desserts. Stop by to visit or offer a helping hand. Maybe we can convince them to revive the potato booth when Mainebiz has its On the Road event in Presque Isle on Sept. 11.
